Welcome to the Education Policy Center!
Purpose:
The outlook of our organization has decided to divert from the national interest toward a more localized outlook for our efforts. In this manner, the Education Policy Center is shifting away from 'producing' policy to an approach that 'deals with' our current issues. Our focus will still be on the socio-economic diversity within schools, but I plan, with the help of all of you, to create a discussion forum and a platform for ideas within the GW and local community context.
Goals:
- Research the current efforts and organizations that have been created to tackle the issue of socio-economic disparities
- Create a consensus of ideas pertaining to the issues seen within the local community
- Convey the current issues in some form of publication to notify the community of Roosevelt's involvement in addressing policy issues.
- Possibly formulating a plan in which GW can reach out into the community through educating students about the college admittance process.
